involvment of His Highness Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan France and United Arab
Emirates (UAE) enjoy very close relationships and genuine friendship in all fields since
the creation of the UAE in 1971.
The UAE became France’s first partner in the
region with a total bilateral trade of 6 billion dirhams in 2000 while France was the fifth largest supplier for the UAE.
The number
of French companies and subsidiaries operating in cooperation with local companies in
various fields increases by 10% per year to reach a total number of approximatively 213
entreprises today.
